Intravenous Sedation for Dentists

This Course is for dentists and medics new to intravenous sedation or those having completed less than 20 independent cases. It is now mandatory for all practitioners new to conscious sedation to undertake an IACSD accredited course followed by a period of mentored cases to gain certification. This course is fully IACSD accredited and covers all your requirements to lead to independent practice for new sedation practitioners. You can now complete all of your required supervised cases at one of our supervising clinics across the UK (Extra fees apply for using our supervisors or supervising centre, est. fees £3200 for 20 cases)

What do you get?

Beginner IV sedation

  • Fully IACSD accredited training in IV conscious sedation (and Oral sedation/premedication) by way of online videos, demos, lectures, quizzes and downloads

  • Assistance in Accreditation of your chosen experienced mentor or provision of an experienced sedation diploma mentor (extra fees apply when using our supervising centres)

  • 14 hours vCPD for the online training plus a potential 7 hours vCPD per day for the mentoring aspect.

  • COMPLIMENTARY access and certification for one dental nurse for every dentist or DCP signing up to the course

  • Full support and guidance on logbook completion, competency completion and case studies

3 Steps to independent practice

  • Sign up and complete the accredited online didactic learning, online tasks, MCQs and practice assessment (14 hours verifiable CPD), you will receive your sedation pack in the post including your recommended textbook and USB

  • Complete 20 mentored cases either at our partnered sedation centre (mentoring fees apply) or at your own clinic.

  • Final Review of Reflective case studies and required competencies/logbook and Accredited Certification!
